On-Board Air
My goal with the blazer is to have a fully self sufficient vehicle
so I can repair myself if I need to when I'm in the back-country, or
when I'm at the race track with the Vette. I'm also a firm believer in
using the right tool for the job, and if there's a power tool available,
thats the right tool.
After doing some research online, I found a company that sells on-board
air parts called Kilby
Enterprises and ordered the parts. Since I have a custom setup,
they didn't have any ready made brackets for my application, so the only
challenging part was figuring out where and how to mount the compressor.
After taking some measurements, I opted for the passenger side next to
the alternator. Since I have nice large fenders in the front, I can
actually mount the 2.5 gallon air tank inside the fender.
I'm still working out where I'm going to install all the other hardware...
(My little head gasket oops slowed me down.)
